Evaluation Question 7

Looking back at your preliminary task (the school magazine task), what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to full product?

From looking back at my preliminary work i feel as though i have gained a lot of new skills within photoshop and creating the actual magazine. When creating my final magazine i knew which type of layout to form all of my information. Where as this be in a T or  format. From my preliminary i can see that i have also improved when editing my images. From looking back at both of these and comparing them i feel as though i know a lot more about the different softwares i can use to create my magazine and also the different way and styles of laying them out.

When first doing the preliminary i had only used basic tools to edit my edit (blurring out my background), but with the final product i learnt how to remove a background, colour over an marks which needed to be hidden and also how to make the photo appear brighter and clearer.

Evaluation Question 6

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Blogger was the website that i had used to display all of my work. This blog site has a well played out website which ensured that I could have all of my work in the correct order, and in a format which looked presentable. I could also change the design of the blog itself to make it suit my personal preference.

I had used photoshop to edit all of the photos. By using this I could do things such as sharpening the photos to give them a better effect or remove the background so i could
add a plain  background in which i could then create my final magazine.
Within my coursework we had to make a playlist. I had used Spotify to do this as i use this on a daily basis and know it very well. this made making the playlist a whole lost easier.

To do all of this work I had used the schools Apple macs. These gave me a variety of different softwares to use to ensure my magazine was to its full potential. Things such as keynote and photoshop on these meant I could format my work in an organised and efficient way.

Evaluation Question 5

How did you attract/address your audience?

To attract my audience i used a certain dress style. This is the type of fashion i am going to be associating with my magazine. I am using these types of clothing as this is the kind of target audience i will be appearing to. some of this is modern but then there are slashes of more 90’s type of clothing, by using modern and 90’s fashion this could attract a wider range of readers and more people ay feel at one with the magazine. The types of clothing associated with this genre would be, black skinny/baggy jeans, oversized jackets, baggy/fitted shirts and boot typed shoes.

Evaluation Question 4

Who would be the audience for your media product?

My target audience will range from 16+, i think this is a reasonable audience as my magazine is mainly aimed at 16 and over. I feel this is a good audience to target as these people are usually certain on the type of music they like therefore will know straight away whether my magazine is for them not.

My will audience will have their own style of clothing. The viewer themselves doesn't follow a mainstream fashion code. He/she usually wears a denim jacket or Harrington, a plain fitted top, skinny or straight leg jeans and Doc Martens. Their hair will look shaggy, however this look on them will go well with their fashion sense. This type of style is important as i will be dressing my model in this style to hopefully attract my main audience. Although my audience will usually wear these types of clothes, they will sometimes dress similar to the image shown.

My viewers interest include going to gigs with friends, going to festivals, playing the guitar/drums and visiting different places around the UK. Music is within their main interest.

They usevarious social media such as, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat to keep up with their favourite bands. My view is male, although I will be aiming this magazine at both genders. I still have to pick a specific gender to target towards so I have an idea of what style to go for. Since the males will be the higher majority I am aiming for my magazine will feature some male models.

Evaluation Question 3

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

The media institution that might distribute my media product us Bauer Media Group. This institution have a very high rate successful when distributing their magazines. They have published magazines from the likes of Kerrang and have also published over 600 different magazines. From this they are known to be one of Europe's largest individual publishing group. I feel as though Bauer Media Group would be the best institution for me to go for as from their reputation, i know that my magazine could easily reach high rates of readers and buyers.

Evaluation Question 2

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

For my final magazine I decided to create a Rock magazine. To do this I didn't just want the colour scheme to have a rock theme to it, but also the model I was going to feature on the front of the Magazine. To do this I researched into other magazines with this theme and found some famous rock icons would usually wear sunglasses of some sort within their photos. I felt as if this added a more hard look to the magazine.
